Mark, born in Yorkshire, studied photography at Wolverhampton Polytechnic before moving to London, where he worked as a still-life photographer. His interest in digital illustration and CGI led him to children’s illustration. In 2001, he moved to Sussex, where he rekindled his passion for landscape photography, particularly in Ashdown Forest and South Downs National Park. In 2017, he began transforming these images into art, leading to his first exhibition. Since becoming a full-time artist in 2018, he has exhibited across the UK and beyond.

Mark’s work blends photography, painting, and collage to create atmospheric pieces inspired by nature. Using his landscape photographs, he explores subtle color, texture, light, and form, blurring the lines between photography and painting. His limited edition prints, presented on brushed aluminium, offer a dynamic, contemporary feel.

Trees are central to his art, symbolizing their vital role in our environment and their diverse characteristics. His approach includes both sweeping landscapes and conceptual works that explore root systems and light, often using mirroring and silhouette effects. Each piece is titled with the GPS coordinates of the original photograph’s location, inviting viewers to explore these places themselves.
