Martyn Goddard, born in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, honed his photography skills at Harrow College of Technology & Art before launching a freelance career. In the 1970s and early 1980s, he captured iconic moments in the New Wave music scene with acts like Blondie, The Jam, and Wham. His work later expanded to editorial projects for publications such as The Sunday Telegraph Magazine and Car Magazine, where his passion for automotive photography flourished.
By the mid-1980s, he had built a stellar reputation, collaborating with top magazines, advertising agencies, and corporate clients across Europe and the USA. His long-standing association with Automobile Magazine is a career highlight, and in 1987, he earned the title of Fellow of the British Institute of Professional Photography. Exhibiting his work has allowed him to connect with art lovers directly.
Outside photography, Martyn enjoys rally driving, mountain biking, and documenting his adventures in a personal photo journal, all while cherishing family time. His diverse career and passion for storytelling continue to leave a lasting impact on the photography world.
